INFORMATION
The Craft Guild of Chefs is once again seeking out the industry’s best for the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2011.
Taking place on Thursday 2nd June, the 2011 awards will be held at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel. Now in their 18th year, the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards have become the chef’s ‘Oscars’, and the coveted accolades recognise and reward the leading talent working in kitchens all across the industry. There are now 14 different award categories for which nominations are sought, covering all aspects of the chef profession, from education to pubs and from the cost sector to banqueting. The 15th award is reserved for one special person who the judges think has made an outstanding contribution to the industry as a whole.
A brand new category has been added to the Awards line up for 2011 – The People’s Choice Award. This has been introduced to celebrate a chef who might have been overlooked or did not quite fit the criteria of a ‘blue ribband’ award. The Craft Guild of Chefs are looking for nominations of unsung heroes who do not necessarily fit into the other 13 categories but demonstrate real commitment to their job. The shortlist will be posted onto their website to allow online voting by Craft Guild members to decide the eventual winner. Full nomination criteria for this new award can be found on here.
The winning candidates are announced at the prestigious awards ceremony, which itself has become an unmissable event in the industry calendar, with more than 600 of the country’s culinary professionals gathering under one roof to celebrate with their peers.
