information
School Chef of the Year is the flagship event for school chefs to showcase their skills as they produce a two-course meal that would appeal to an 11-year old school pupil, with a maximum food cost of £1.50 per head, in just one and a half hours.
The competition has grown in stature and numbers over recent years and this year the local heats will once again be held as a paper-judged entry round - full details can be found in the Participation Pack below. We hope this will again encourage more entries from Local Authorities, as well as contract-catered sites and DIY schools.
Registration this year couldn't be simpler - just download the entry pack for the competition below. This needs to be returned to the SCOTY Competition office no later than Friday 30th September.
You can enter as many of your chefs into the competition as you wish - the entry pack has all the necessary information and forms for you to return your entrant details to us.
There will be a judging day of all entries at the beginning of November with the chosen chefs going through to the Regional Finals in the early part of 2012.
Once again, Maggi from Nestle Professional are sponsoring the SCOTY competition and there is an extensive list of Nestle products for competitors to incorporate into their menus.
If you have any queries on the competition, please call the SCOTY competition office on 0845 108 5504.
